2013 Ford Explorer Sport EcoBoost 4×4 Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

2013 Ford Explorer Sport EcoBoost 4x4 Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

www.autobytel.com The Ford Explorer started the SUV movement back in 1991 with a simple two box body on frame design that brought utility to a whole new level. However things have changed for the familiar Blue Oval badged hauler, and now the Explorer is much more forgiving crossover than the SUV it once was thanks to 21st century unibody construction, since it essentially rides on a car chassis. However this hasn’t stopped Ford from stiffening up the chassis, shoehorning their big 3.5 Liter twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6 under the hood and sending power to all four wheels to create the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport, which just so happens to be the most expensive Explorer that money can buy, with a base price of over k With the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport 4×4, the company has gone all out. On the outside the first thing you notice is the technical wrap meaning Ford basically blacked everything out. The high gloss grille is combined with low gloss mesh which sweep into the cool cut headlamps. The lower bumper has a blacked out look with integrated fog lights. The Explorer Sport has 20-inch wheels wrapped in sticky rubber which are a half-inch wider than the standard Explorer tires. On the side the sills, cargo bars, and side mirrors are all blacked out. Everything looks great together and you know the Explorer Sport means business. The great looks are not where the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport ends; one look under the hood reveals some serious power. The engine is a powerful and fun

2013 Chevrolet Traverse Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

2013 Chevrolet Traverse Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

www.autobytel.com For the 2013 model year, the Chevrolet Traverse gets a minor refresh that includes updated exterior features like a new front grille, fascia, and rear taillights. The Traverse is essentially a replacement for Chevy’s minivan segment and has been selling extremely well since 2009. In the last 4 years over 400k vehicles have been sold. Everything about the Traverse is designed to make it easy for families to get in and out. Seating is for either 7 or 8 passengers depending on if you want Captain’s Chair in the second row. The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse has a base price of 510. Chevrolet has made some enhancements to the 2013 Traverse, when a car gets to be about 3 years old a refresh in usually not far behind. And that’s what has happened with the Traverse. Besides the exterior changes mentioned above, there have been interior changes to the dash and center stack. One thing that did not change was the engine. The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse is powered by a 3.6 liter V-6 motor that makes 281 horsepower and 266 lb-ft. of torque. The 6-speed automatic transmission is becoming a little bit outdated but the Traverse still manages fuel economy ratings of 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. As a driver of a Crossover SUV you want the controls to be easy to read and very accessible. Chevy has done a great all around job but the one complaint would have to be the size of the navigation screen. It is very small by today’s standards measuring only 6.5 inches

The Encore, like all Buick models, has the big signature grille up front. Buick is no longer at the bottom of the premium barrel, instead it is moving up the ladder. The large bold headlamps and the portholes in the hood are signature Buick cues. When Buick set out to build the Encore, they did not just want to make another crossover. Instead they wanted a relatively inexpensive crossover to look premium. The exterior hits that mark with the multiple bends in the sheet metal and other styling cues, while the theme is carried over to the interior with the premium materials and tons of technology.
