2013 Mazda CX-5 SKYACTIV Test Drive & Crossover Car Review

The 2013 Mazda CX-5 is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft. of torque. There are two transmissions available: a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Fuel economy is 26 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. SKYACTIV is a suite of technology that work together in the name of fuel economy. First the compression ratios were increased, next the SKYACTIV engines use direct injection, finally the friction levels inside the engine and moving parts were decreased. On the transmission side the SKYACTIV-Drive is both smooth and efficient; offering an increase in fuel economy by 7% on average.
